Robbing Centaurs and Other Bad Ideas

Wick the tree messenger is bound for success. His work as a messenger is getting him recognized, and he’s on track to become an ambassador for his sidelined people, the leshy.

To prove himself worthy of the job, Wick’s mentors require him to make just one more hurdle: a thief has been slowly collecting all the pieces of the powerful Heather Stone, and Wick must carry his people’s piece to a better-protected location.

He doesn’t make it far before he’s overtaken by the very thief he was warned about. The biggest problem? Archer’s intentions are different than Wick thought. His plans might even be noble, if they weren’t coming from a thief.

Wick doesn’t know what to believe, but if Archer is right, it could spell destruction for them all. A scourge is coming; a wall of fire that hasn’t been seen since the ancient days of Aro. And the only things in its way are a wary messenger and a scheming thief.

If he chooses wrong, Wick could lose everything.

World Saving and Other Disasters

A winged thief. A tree newly turned human. And they just robbed the whole world.

Only days after going to jail for their crimes, Archer and Wick are free and on the run again. The glow of the Scorch grows brighter on the horizon, and the stones they need to stop it have been carried off to the far reaches of Aro. Their only choice is to barter for the stones.

There is no room for error, and they have fewer advantages now than ever before. Allies who once rallied with them have turned their backs, their old enemies are out for blood, and the only safe haven from either is with Archer’s treacherous father in seraph territory. Their venture is taking a toll on both of them: a disastrous meeting with the leshy has sent Wick into a spiral of despondency, and without his help, Archer is struggling to hold it all together.

Still, they have to do this. They can only succeed, or Aro will burn.

DragonFire and Other Nonsense

When you face the end, who will you become?

Wick the now-human and Archer the broken seraph awaken in a burning city, and that’s the least of their troubles. Archer can’t manage to talk to his brother about their losses back home. His fruit drink concoctions still taste nothing like his mother’s did, and on top of it all, something in the forest seems to be hunting him down.

Wick struggles to keep his head above water, striving to help his own people and navigate increasingly complicated relationships, all while doing his best to stop Archer from spiraling.

Oh, and the dragonkin army has presented an ultimatum: surrender the Heather Stones or die.

In the face of so much grief, is it worse to be bitter, or broken?
